About the show
How do you respond when society heads toward collapse and you feel powerless? In Zona Franca, ten dancers move between joy, vulnerability, and anger — driven by drums, trance, and explosive energy. Blending Afro-house, passinho, TikTok, and contemporary dance, they create a ZONA FRANCA – a free zone in search of an alternative community.
Brazilian choreographer Alice Ripoll and her collective SUAVE fuse urban and contemporary dance into a vibrant, emotional experience — a celebration of survival, rhythm, and togetherness.
Ripoll’s work has been performed at Brazilian festivals including the Festival Panorama in Rio de Janeiro, and abroad at Kampnagel – Internationales Sommerfestival in Hamburg, the Rencontres Chorégraphiques de Seine-Saint-Denis and the Brussels Kunstenfestivaldesarts.
