ABOUT THE PLAY
Please note that the play is performed in Danish.
We no longer need each other. And because of that, we need each other more than ever before. The Reumert Award-winning collective, Sort Samvittighed, is finally back.
Over the past 18 years, the nine artists have encountered one another and confronted the wild, untameable beast of community. So, what have they learned? What insights have they gained about building a sense of togetherness in a world where the individual reigns supreme, and the I trumps the us? Do we even need each other when the social order don’t require people meeting, and when the lead singer always achieves greater success as a solo act? The once-essential communities that brought children into the world and navigated both sorrow and joy are gone. Community now seems like an inconvenient, utopian exercise in calendar management—and there’s always at least one person who must leave early that day.
Sort Samvittighed explores what divides us and what binds us together.
The performance has been created as part of a comprehensive process called BETTY UDVIKLER, in collaboration with the Bikuben Foundation.
