HYKLERNE moves from suburban homes and police stations to global call centres and digital abysses. The production lays bare a society in which friendships can be measured in debt, love can be simulated, and your closest confidant may be sitting behind a screen on the other side of the world.

But who is the real hypocrite? The cynical scammer? The lonely customer? Or a society that produces more loneliness than ever before?

HYKLERNE is a large-scale ensemble production about an economy that has learned how to profit from our longing for love, security and a different life. And about the dizzying possibility that scammers and their victims, the lovestruck and the lost, may have far more in common than we would like to believe.
