Betty develops

Under the name BETTY DEVELOPS, we are exploring new and innovative approaches to the performing arts. We experiment, fail and test both wildly creative and ingenious ideas. You can follow our journey as we showcase our developmental work and share all our insights. Our focus is on developing new interdisciplinary genres, collective working processes and production formats. While the universe primarily addresses those working in arts, anyone curious about the artistic engine behind the scenes is also more than welcome to read along. BETTY DEVELOPS was established in collaboration with the Bikuben Foundation.

DOCUMENTARY FILM: COLLECTIVE CO-CREATION

How do you work with collective co-creation both organizationally and artistically? What is a bubble management structure? How can collective co-creation develop and expand artists’ methods and creativity? What do co-creation and jazz have in common? What are the challenges of collective co-creation? As the culmination of experiences from BETTY DEVELOPS’ first four-year collaboration with The Bikuben Foundation on the development of innovative performing arts and new methods for collective co-creation, we shed light on these questions in a brand-new documentary film.

WAITING PLACES: COLLECTIVE PHYSICAL RESEARCH

How do you start creating a physical language from zero? What can collaborative physical research look like? What happens when you put the language of the body first? These are some of the exploration points of the two-week Waiting Places workshop.
